The Erranda family has long been regardest as the greatest dukes in all of Tandia. At least until Duke Atilus came to power. His incessant pursuit of personal wealth, has drained the resources of his people. The high taxes are suffocating merchants, and those who are able to, have already moved away from the duchy.
All of this has provided fertile ground for the rumours surrounding his messy rise to power after the rest of the family was murdered. He was, after all, only the son of the duchess, not an official ducal heir until nominated for it after their tragic passing.
