Since Tandia is located on the former seabed, very few plants are able to grow. However, the muddy soil of Qiala has proven to be fertile ground for some sorts of Algae-trees. Since no other place in the country is well enough suited for trees of any rapid growth, the duchy has become the nations sole provider of lumber.
